The Kano State Government, has intensified efforts to improve electricity supply through strategic collaboration with key stakeholders.

The Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy, Dr. Gaddafi Sani Shehu, made this known while outlining the government’s roadmap to enhance energy access across the state.

 

He disclosed that the state has launched its Electricity Policy and is strengthening the newly established State Electricity Market key steps aimed at promoting sustainable energy development and supporting community growth.

Dr. Shehu further revealed that the Ministry is actively engaging solar mini-grid developers, inviting proposals for innovative energy projects.

According to him, plans are underway for Kano State to generate its own electricity, a move geared towards achieving energy self-sufficiency and reducing dependence on the national grid.

He emphasized that the Ministry remains open to partnerships and collaborations that will accelerate the delivery of sustainable power solutions across the state.

Dr. Shehu assured residents that the government is working diligently to ensure consistent and sustainable electricity supply for the people of Kano State.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding access to clean, reliable, and affordable power.
