The Zamfara State Police Command has presented a total sum of ₦8,450,000 to families of deceased police officers as part of activities marking the 2026 National Police Week.

The presentation ceremony was held at the Command Headquarters in Gusau, where the Commissioner of Police, CP A.M. Bello, handed over the cheques to the beneficiaries.

The development was made known in a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Yazid Abubakar, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police.

According to the statement, a total of sixteen (16) beneficiaries received the financial support, which is part of ongoing efforts by the Nigeria Police Force to provide welfare assistance to families of officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Speaking during the ceremony, CP A.M. Bello said the gesture reflects the commitment of the Force leadership to the welfare of its personnel and their families.

He reassured the beneficiaries of the Force’s continued support, emphasizing that the sacrifices of fallen officers would never be forgotten.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Bashir Abubakar expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police and the Zamfara State Command, stating that the support would go a long way in alleviating the financial challenges faced by the families.
