The Kano State Fire Service says it rescued eight persons and saved property worth N34 billion from 100 fire-related incidents recorded in February.

The Public Relations Officer of the Service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, disclosed this while speaking to journalists in Kano.

According to him, seven persons lost their lives during the period, while property valued at N8.5 billion was destroyed by fire outbreaks across the state.

He added that the Service also responded to nine emergency calls and recorded five false alarms from residents.

Abdullahi urged members of the public to adopt proper fire safety measures and handle fire-related activities with caution to reduce the incidence of fire disasters.

He emphasized the importance of public cooperation and awareness in supporting the Service’s efforts to protect lives and property.
