Bandits have bombed the Wawa-Luma bridge connecting Babanna, Agwara, and neighboring communities in Borgu Local Government Council, halting trade and transportation in the area.

The early-morning attack forced the closure of the Babanna International Border Market, held every Monday, paralyzing economic activities and causing widespread panic in Borgu LGA, surrounding villages, parts of Kwara State, and communities in the Benin Republic.

Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent Wasi’u Abiodun, confirmed that suspected terrorists operating from the park forest used explosives to target the bridge. Investigations revealed the attack was carried out by hoodlums resisting ongoing security operations.

Superintendent Abiodun added that security forces will maintain surveillance and intensify clearance operations to restore safety and reopen the affected routes.
