Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Abbas Tajudeen, has described the recent bomb blasts in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, as unfortunate, noting that they led to the loss of lives of innocent citizens, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Malam Musa Abdullahi Krishi, Dr Abbas Tajudeen, expressed concern that despite huge investment by the government in the area of security, terrorists have continued with their destructive activities in the area.

The Speaker who confirmed that the terrorist are not against Islam but humanity, called for concerted effort between the security agencies in the country to clamp down terrorism, banditry and other crimes in Nigeria.

He further consoled the families of those who died while consoling those injured by the blasts assuring that the National Assembly in collaboration with Executive Arm would continue to do everything humanly possible to ensure the nation is fully secured.

Recalled that on Monday this week suspected terrorists bombed locations around Monday Market and a security post at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, in Borno State killing and wounded an unspecified number of people.
