Some prominent stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State have welcomed the defection of the State Governor, Dauda Lawal, into the ruling party.
In a joint statement, the stakeholders described the development as a significant milestone in the political history of Zamfara State, noting that it would further strengthen unity among political leaders and accelerate the state’s growth and development.
The statement, signed by former Minister of State for Finance, Bashir Yuguda, former Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Ibrahim Wakkala Muhammad, and former Zamfara State Commissioner, Muktar Ahmad Anka, expressed confidence that the governor’s decision to join the APC would bring about greater political cooperation and progress in the State.
According to them, Governor Lawal’s defection, along with his supporters and political associates, is expected to enhance the prospects of development in Zamfara under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Renewed Hope Agenda.
They pledged their continued support and cooperation to ensure the advancement of Zamfara State and the consolidation of the APC’s political strength ahead of future elections.
The stakeholders also prayed for God’s guidance for Governor Lawal as he continues to steer the affairs of the State.
They further expressed optimism that the governor’s move would strengthen the APC’s chances of sustaining the leadership of President Tinubu beyond the 2027 general elections.
