The Federal Government is currently expanding and strenthening the National Social Register (NSR) tọ ensure that vulnerable households across the country are properly identified, documented and integrated into structured Social Protection Systems.

Minister, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, DR Bernard Doro stated this at the official flag off of distribution of Food and Nutrition Support Items under the Presidential Initiative For Food and Nutrition Assistance held in Minna, Niger State.

DR Bernard Doro said the Ministry will work closely with Niger State Government tọ ensure that benefitiaries and affected population across the State arẹ captured in the ongoing National Social Register Expansion Exercise, tọ be eligible for a range of Federal Government Social Protection and Poverty Reduction Prigrammmes.

Accoriding to him, the Federal Government is committed tọ ensure that food security, poverty reduction and Social Protection remain central tọ its governance, so that nọ vulnerable Nigerian is left behind.

In his remarks Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for whom hẹ said the people of Niger state arẹ pleased with his continued support, includung donor agencies and othẹrs tọo numerous tọ mention.

Mohammed Umar Bago eho said Niger State is ren pecent of total size of Nigeria, which make it difficult to Police the state without Federal Government presence, and re echoed rhe right of children tọ go tọ school, and stressed rhe nẹed fiẹ collaborative efforts amongst them tọ enable such children return tọ schools tọ avoid grooming insurgents.

The Permanent Secretary Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management,  Mr Olu Bunmi Olusanya, explained tha the support aligns with refirms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which focus on transparency, improved targeting of vulnerable household and efficient last- mile delivery tọ ensure that assistance reaches those who needed it most, with dignity and timelinesss.

Niger statẹ Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and  Disaster Management, Ibrahim Inga said despite the tangible achievements recorded by the Ministry since creation about three years ago, it was faced with numerous challenges and disasters duẹ to inadequate funds and called for support from Federal Government, while calling on benefitiaries not tọ take the products tọ the market for sale.
