Jigawa State Deputy Governor, Engineer Aminu Usman Gumel, has described the new Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Dutse, Professor Ahmad Muhammed Gumel, as a man of the people who cares about the progress and development of his community and associates.

The Deputy Governor made the remark at a reception organised by friends of Professor Gumel at the Gumel Emirate Foundation Conference Hall.
According to him, he was not surprised by the large turnout at the inauguration ceremony in Dutse and the reception in Gumel, noting that the new Vice-Chancellor is caring and supportive of his friends, colleagues, and everyone who comes into contact with him.
He further explained that while Professor Gumel was in Malaysia, he facilitated admissions and scholarships for many people from his community.

Engineer Aminu Usman Gumel called on the new VC to remain steadfast in the fear of God while doing justice to all and sundry adding that he is confident that he will succeed at FUD.
Dr. Najib Abdulhamid, who works with Microsoft in Kenya and spoke on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor’s friends, said they are delighted that their childhood friend has been elevated to the pinnacle of his career, adding that they will continue to support him with prayers and advice to ensure he writes his name in gold in the history of the university.
He said they have carefully studied his 11 points agenda and they are confident that with focus, determination and the right team the agenda is achievable adding that they will leverage on their contacts and connection to help the new VC realise his vision for the university.

Dr. Najib described the VC as a focused, disciplined and ambitious fellow who get things done right from their childhood adding they as his friends will assist him to achieve his goals while limiting their expectations due to so many constraints.
Professor Muhammed Sani Gumel, immediate past Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics, Bayero University Kano, congratulated the new VC and advised him to familiarize himself with university laws.
