The Federal University of Technology Minna, Niger state has expressed readiness to scale up support for research findings in the institution to encourage state of the earth discoveries by the various research groups in the institution, under the Directorate of Research Innovation and Development.
Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta stated this while declaring opened the third International Conference On Mathematical Modelling, Optimization And Analysis Of Disease Dynamics 2026 held at the Bosso Campus, Minna.
Represented by the Dean School of Postgraduate Studies, Prof Abubakar Ndaman Saidu, the Vice Chancellor Prof Faruk Adamu Kuta, described the International Conference as apt and timely in view of the way diseases are emerging hence the need for solution through modelling and simulation.
He commended the lead researcher from the Department of Mathematics, Prof Ninuola Akinwande for his commitment and dedication and urged other researchers to redouble efforts in attaining greater heights.
In his remarks, the Head of Department Mathematics FUT Minna, Prof Abdullahi Idris Enagi, appreciated the continued support of University Management towards Reaserch and Scholarly activities, in particular he commended the purposeful leadership of the Vice Chancellor and member of this research group Prof Faruk Adamu Kuta whose commitment to academic excellence, innovation and digital advancement led to the hosting of this conference.
Also speaking Deputy Vice Chancellor Administration, Prof Uno Essang Uno who went memory lane gave a story of a person who presented a paper which was criticized by many describing it as rubbish, but stood up in his defence, insisting that no knowledge is useless or wasted, and charged participants to take advantage of the conference to enhance their knowledge.
The theme of the conference, Mathematical Modelling and Applications To Contemporary Challenges, had both in attendance and virtual presentation and keynote addresses by erudite scholars to include Prof Aiyemisi Yomi Monday of the Department of Mathematics FUT Minna, Dr Lateef Olakunle Jolaoso, University of Southampton, United Kingdom, and the Dean School of Physical Sciences Prof Mohammed Jiya among others
