Kaduna State Government has confirmed the approval of a comprehensive rehabilitation and restoration of dilapidated structures at the Kafanchan campus of Kaduna State University KASU.
The confirmation was given by the Director-General of the Kaduna State Facilities Management Agency (KADFAMA), Engr. Adamu Magaji, while responding to an online report alleging neglect of the KASU Kafanchan campus.
According to him, contrary to claims by what he described as mischief-makers, the Kafanchan campus of Kaduna State University is among the tertiary institutions earmarked for extensive rehabilitation across the state.
Engr. Magaji noted that the institution suffered years of neglect under the previous administration but stressed that the present government, under Governor Uba Sani, has made the rehabilitation and remodelling of tertiary institutions a top priority.
He disclosed that following a directive from the Governor, officials of KADFAMA have already commenced necessary processes toward the reconstruction and re-equipping of Kaduna State University and its campuses.
The KADFAMA boss assured that upon completion of the rehabilitation works at the Kafanchan campus, the institution would be better positioned to produce qualified graduates capable of contributing meaningfully to the development of Kaduna State and the nation at large.
Engr. Magaji further appealed to members of the public, particularly students, to disregard politically motivated narratives aimed at tarnishing the image of the present administration through unfounded claims.
He also called on staff, students, and the entire university community to cooperate fully with engineers handling the rehabilitation works to ensure the timely completion of the project.
