Retired workers of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Kaduna, have expressed concern over the non-completion of payment of their retirement benefits, which were expected last year, by the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD).

The retirees said they were dismayed by recent claims by the directorate regarding the payment of billions of naira as monthly pensions, instead of settling the outstanding arrears for which funds had already been provided by the Federal Government.

They reminded PTAD of the need to uphold transparency and accountability in its operations to justify public trust, rather than engaging in what they described as unnecessary and unfortunate gimmicks.

One of the retirees Alhaji Ibrahim Fagge stressed the need for the National Coalition on pension headed by Comrade Mukaila Ogunbote to continue with its struggle until all the benefits are duly settled.

Alhaji Ibrahim Fagge also stressed the need for the coalition to calculate balance of such arrears devoid of controversies considering claims by the PTAD that only one month pension is outstanding.
