The death has occurred of a former Kaduna State Commissioner of Education, Malam Suleiman Lawal Jarman Kauru.

Aged 78, Malam Suleiman Lawal died on Saturday night, January 3, 2026, after a protracted illness.

Until his death, he served as Secretary of the Task Force Committee on the construction of the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital ABUTH, Shika, Zaria and National Eye Center Kaduna respectively.

He previously held several key positions, including Rector of Kaduna State Polytechnic, Zaria (now Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria), Federal Commissioner of the Federal Character Commission representing Kaduna State, and Kaduna State Commissioner of Education, among others.

Jarman Kauru is survived by two wives, 14 children and many grandchildren. Among his children is Alhaji Nuraddeen Suleiman Lawal Mayana Kauru, the Academic Secretary of Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria.

He has since been buried according to the Islamic rites.

May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.
