Jigawa State House of Assembly has passed the 2026 Appropriation Bill of over ₦901 billion into law, with some amendments, to fund the services of the state government.

The passage followed the presentation and adoption of the report of the House Committee on Appropriation.

Presenting the report, the committee’s chairman and member representing Malam Madori Constituency, Alhaji Hamza Adamu Ibrahim, said all House standing committees engaged relevant ministries, departments and agencies to assess and defend their budget estimates.

He explained that the committee was satisfied with the allocations made for infrastructure and social amenities in the 2026 fiscal year.

On the budgetary allocation of over ₦288 billion for the 27 local government councils, Hamza Adamu called on the Ministry for Local Government to ensure that council chairmen strictly implement their approved budgets for the benefit of rural communities.

During the Committee of the Whole, the Speaker, Alhaji Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin received and considered observations and corrections on typographical errors on names of towns and locations.

On resuming plenary session, the Deputy Clerk Alhaji Yusha’u Muhammad read the bill for the Second and Third times while the Speaker, Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin announced the passage of the 2026 Appropriation Bill into law.
