Kaduna, Nigeria: Today, concerned citizens of Kaduna gathered to publicly refute claims made by former Governor Malam Nasiru Elrufai that the current state government allegedly paid one billion naira to bandits.
In a press briefing, Abdul Rashid Taslim, convener of the concerned citizens, described the allegation as false, politically motivated, and designed to tarnish the image of Governor Uba Sani’s administration.
He emphasized that no such payment was ever made and that the state government is committed to lawful governance, security, and transparency.

Taslim accused El-rufai of prioritizing politics over the lives and peaceful coexistence of Kaduna residents.
He called on media, civil society organizations, and the public to remain vigilant against unverified claims that could undermine state security and progress.
The convener also highlighted that Kaduna experienced heightened insecurity under Elrufai’s administration, contrasting it with the relative stability achieved during previous administrations.

He praised ongoing efforts by Governor Uba Sani’s government, including community-based peacebuilding, intelligence-led operations, and socio-economic interventions.
In conclusion, the concerned citizens of kaduna state urged the former governor to desist from spreading unsubstantiated statements and reaffirmed the citizens’ support for Governor Uba Sani’s commitment to peace, justice, and transparency.
