The Permanent Secretary of the State House, Mr. Temitope Peter Fashedemi has urged staff to renew their commitment to professionalism and effective service delivery as the Federal Government intensifies reforms within the civil service.

Fashedemi made the call in Abuja shortly after signing a Performance Contract with Directors of various departments during the closing session of the 2025 Management and Ministerial Performance Management System (MPMS) Retreat, a three-day programme organised by the State House Management.

The retreat, themed Building a Responsive and High-Performance Workforce through Innovation and Teamwork, is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen accountability, efficiency, and innovation across the Federal Civil Service.

Speaking with journalists, the Permanent Secretary emphasized that the performance contract is a binding commitment, not a symbolic gesture.

He explained that the initiative clarifies expectations for every directorate and will eventually extend throughout the wider public service.

According to him, the retreat served as a sensitisation and training platform to help staff better understand the Performance Management System, reduce apprehension, and demonstrate how the framework will make work processes clearer and more efficient.

He noted that the contract represents an agreement between staff and their supervisors on specific targets and timelines.

At the end of the evaluation period, both parties will review achievements and areas needing improvement.

Fashedemi described the contract as a solemn pledge aligned with the President’s vision for a more productive, accountable, and responsive public service.

He encouraged all staff to recommit to excellence.

“We must collectively embrace a culture of efficiency, integrity, and timely delivery,” he said.
