Nasarawa State Governor and North Central Governors’ Forum Chairman, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, has departed Abuja for Johannesburg, South Africa, to attend the 2025 G20 Summit.
The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Addra, confirmed on Monday that the trip follows President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s approval for Governor Sule and eight other state governors to join the Presidential Delegation to the summit.
Scheduled to hold from November 22 to 23, 2025, the 2025 G20 Summit is themed Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability and will be hosted for the first time on African soil.
Breakaway meetings of the G20 Social Engagement Groups will begin on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, Mr. Addra added.
While in Johannesburg, Governor Sule is expected to hold discussions with South African officials and counterparts from other G20 member states.
Upon his return, he will submit a comprehensive report and Action Plan to the Office of the President detailing the outcomes and implementation strategies from the summit.
The G20 Summit serves as an international platform for economic cooperation, bringing together 19 countries, the European Union, the African Union, and other multilateral agencies to discuss global economy, trade, sustainable development, and climate change.
