Kano State’s Ministry of Rural and Community Development convened a key stakeholders’ meeting to discuss the Agenda for Sustainable Rural and Community Development in the state.

In a statement signed by the Public Relation Officer Ministry for Rural Development , Farouk Ghali Masanawa, the five-year rolling plan is designed to align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) the Kano Development Plan, and the AKY blueprint, ensuring that the priorities of rural communities are fully addressed.

He said, a major focus of the initiative is inclusivity, guaranteeing that all rural dwellers and vulnerable groups benefit equitably from development programs.

The plan also emphasizes community participation in decision-making, fostering sustainability and long-term planning for rural development.

The PRO noted that, the program aims to strengthen collaboration between government, private sector partners, and local communities to ensure successful implementation and lasting impact.

Prominent attendees at the meeting included the Commissioner for Solid Minerals, the Chairman of the Kano State House of Assembly Committee on Rural Development, and representatives of various NGOs.
