The Private Health Institution Management Agency (PHIMA), in collaboration with the State Emergency Routine Immunization Coordination Centre (SERICC), has held a strategic meeting aimed at enhancing the coordination, quality, and data management of routine immunization services across private health facilities in Kano State.
Speaking during the meeting, Director of Administration and General Services at PHIMA and Acting Director-General of the Agency Hajiya Khadijah Hussein explained that the engagement focused on reviewing existing immunization guidelines.
Others are improving data reporting mechanisms to ensure comprehensive vaccine coverage for all eligible children across the state.
She further revealed that PHIMA,will submit a comprehensive list of all private health facilities currently providing immunization services within two weeks.
According to her plans to compile and share a list of facilities not yet captured on the DHIS2 data platform within the same period.
Both PHIMA and SERICC reaffirmed their joint commitment to improving service delivery, enhancing data accuracy, and strengthening public-private collaboration in the state’s healthcare system.
The partnership, according to officials, is expected to lead to more reliable immunization data, better planning, and expanded vaccine access for children in Kano State.
