Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and transport unions have agreed to intensify efforts against practices that lead to road crashes across the country.

Corps Marshal Shehu Muhammad disclosed this during the 2025 Ember Months Public Sensitization Campaign in Kaduna.

Represented by the Kaduna Sector Commander, Tijjani Iliyasu, the Corps Marshal said the FRSC is adopting stronger safety measures to reduce accidents nationwide.

He added that collaboration with transport unions and other critical stakeholders will help ensure motorists comply with road safety regulations.

In his remark, a representative of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Kaduna State Chapter, Comrade Hassan Ibrahim, said the FRSC initiative aligns with the Union’s commitment to preventing road accidents.

He urged members, and all road users, to always comply with safety regulations to protect lives and property.

Delivering a paper titled “Your Safety Lies in Your Hands”, the Zaria Unit Commander, Route Commander Nasiru Abdullahi Falgore, emphasized the importance of focused and responsible driving.

The town hall meeting was attended by senior FRSC officials, representatives of the Kaduna State Government, security agencies, religious leaders, and other key stakeholders.
