At least two hundred widows and youths have been empowered with cash gift by the Youth Wing Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), Kwara state Chapter across 16 local government areas of the state.
Speaking at the disbursements of the empowerment in Ilorin,the YOWICAN Chairman in Kwara state , Evangelist Stephen Awoyale said the widows received N50,000 cash each while 100 Youths also got 10,000 naira each.
According to him, the goal for this year’s empowerment was to empower youths, and widows who were the wives of late clergymen who laboured and served in the vine yard of Christ.
Awoyale explained that the empowerment is done in phases in order to accommodate more beneficiaries.
He said the mandate of the association is to empower youths to lead by shining their lights both in character, service, and innovation.
