Supporters of Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) block, who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2022, have reiterated their unwavering loyalty to the party and its leadership.

They expressed their commitment to the APC under the leadership of the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle; former Governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar; and the State Chairman, Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani.

This was made known during a solidarity visit to the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, in Abuja while the delegation was led by the former Zamfara State APGA Chairman, Alhaji Bature Mohammed Bungudu, and Alhaji Bello Maijamaa Tsafe.

In a statement issued by the APC Publicity Secretary, Zamfara State, Yusuf Idris Gusau said during the visit, the group pledged continued support for Senator Yari and Dr. Matawalle, noting that, the APC in Zamfara has recorded remarkable progress despite being the opposition party in the state.

Speaking on behalf of the 14 local government APGA blocks, Alhaji Bello Usman Maijamaa reaffirmed their decision to remain in the APC.

“We have resolved to stand firmly by the APC and contribute meaningfully to its victory come 2027,” Maijamaa said. “We are determined to promote unity, peace, and progress within the party and will resist any attempt to destabilize it.”

Maijamaa commended the maturity and patience of APC leaders in the state for ignoring provocations, describing their composure as a sign of true leadership and commitment to development.

In their separate remarks, Alhaji Bature Mohammed Bungudu, Alhaji Sanusi Sabo, and Alhaji Babangida Magaji reaffirmed their loyalty to the APC, emphasizing that no amount of intimidation or propaganda would deter them from promoting the party’s ideals.

Responding, the Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, commended the group’s steadfastness and loyalty.

He assured them of the party’s continued recognition and support, urging them to remain law-abiding and focused on ensuring the APC’s victory in the 2027 general elections.

Dr. Matawalle further described their decision as a positive step that would foster unity, peace, and progress within the party. He encouraged them to continue mobilizing support for the APC by showcasing its people-oriented policies and inclusive leadership style.

The meeting was attended by prominent APC leaders including former Deputy Governor Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha, Senator Tijjani Yahaya Kaura, State APC Chairman Hon. Tukur Umar Danfulani, former SSG Alhaji Kabiru Balarabe, Managing Director of NIAC Hon. Yazid Shehu Danfulani among others.
