Kano State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the theft of a motor vehicle reported stolen in Abuja.

According to a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa,said operatives of the Command’s Special Intervention Squad (SIS) apprehended the suspects Michael Jatau 39, and Haruna Aliyu Muhammad 21,on 13 October this year.

The suspects were found in possession of a dark ash 2012 Toyota Corolla with registration number KRD-13-FW. Investigations revealed that the car had been snatched in Abuja and transported to Kano, where the suspects allegedly intended to sell it.

Both suspects have reportedly confessed to the crime and will be charged to court following the conclusion of the investigation.

Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori praised the officers involved in the operation and reiterated the Command’s commitment to community-based policing through its “Operation Kukan Kura” initiative.

He also called on the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity to law enforcement.
