Bills seeking the establishment of three key agencies have passed Second Reading on the floor of the Jigawa State House of Assembly.

The proposed laws include the establishment of the Jigawa State Rural Access Roads Authority, the State Roads Fund and Administration Board, and the Teachers Development Agency.

Moving the motion for the Teachers Development Agency Bill, the Deputy Majority Leader, Alhaji Sani Sale Zaburan, said the initiative aims to transform the teaching profession through continuous capacity building.

In their separate contributions, members representing Kanya Babba, Fagam, Sule Tankarkar, and Guri constituencies noted that the proposed agency would take over the functions of the defunct Teacher Training College, thereby enhancing teaching and learning across schools in the state.

Also moving motion to gather support on the establishment of Jigawa State Rural Access Roads Authority, Jigawa State Roads Fund and the Jigawa State Roads Fund Administration Board, the Deputy Majority Leader Sani Sale Zaburan explained that the measure will strengthen government efforts towards improved transportation at the rural level.

In their separate remarks, members representing Gwaram, Kiri Kasamma, Guri and Fagam constituencies described the bills as a clear indication of the Namadi led administration to provide more access roads where sixty percent of the population are located in rural areas.

After unanimous consent through voting, the bills were read for second time while the Speaker, Alhaji Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin referred the first Two bills on rural road to House Committee on Environment to report back in 4 weeks.

The third bill is referred to House Committee on Higher and Basic Education to report in back in 4 weeks.
