Vice President Kashim Shettima has returned to Abuja after a week-long international mission that took him to the United States and Germany.

Shettima who represented President Bola Tinubu at the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, delivered Nigeria’s national statement, pressing for comprehensive UN reforms and reaffirming Africa’s sovereignty over its $700 billion mineral resources.

He also secured high-level partnerships with the United Kingdom, the Gates Foundation, and other global stakeholders while highlighting Nigeria’s $200 billion energy transition opportunities to international investors.

In New York, Vice President Shettima met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, who commended Nigeria’s bid for a permanent seat on the Security Council.

Before proceeding to Germany for strategic engagements, the Vice President assured Nigerians in the Diaspora of stronger inclusion in the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration.

Among government officials who received the Vice President at the airport are the Director General of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Dr Mohammed Bulama.
