The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly,Alhaji Jibril Ismail Falgore, has extended warm felicitations to Nigerians as the country marks its 65th Independence Anniversary.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, the Speaker described Nigeria’s post-independence journey as one filled with challenges and opportunities, noting that with vision and strategic planning, a brighter future is within reach.

Falgore highlighted the foresight of the nation’s founding fathers, who laid the foundation for a united, sovereign, and democratic country.

He observed that despite hurdles, Nigeria today stands as a nation of over 230 million people, largely young and energetic a unique strength many nations lack.

The Speaker urged Nigerians to move beyond lamentations over missed opportunities, stressing that the country’s abundant human and material resources can still be harnessed to reposition it for greatness.

“As a people, we must realize that we owe future generations, and indeed Nigeria, a duty to redeem our dignity by killing corruption and harnessing our resources for development,” he said.

“Here in Kano State, the House of Assembly remains resolute in its legislative and oversight responsibilities, with zero tolerance for corruption and a firm commitment to improving the lives of our people.”

On behalf of the Kano State House of Assembly, Falgore extended his felicitations to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, the people of Kano State, and all Nigerians.

“May this anniversary inspire us all to rise above divisions and work together for a prosperous nation where justice, equity, and development prevail. Happy 65th Independence Anniversary, Nigeria,”
