Governor Umar Namadi has congratulated Farouk Mohammed Gumel on his appointment as Chairman of Botswana’s Sovereign Wealth Fund.

The governor, in a statement on behalf of the government and people of Jigawa State, described the appointment as a proud moment for the state and Nigeria at large.

Namadi commended Gumel’s exceptional leadership, professionalism, and wide experience in finance, agriculture, and investment management, noting that the new role reflects the values of integrity and excellence for which Jigawa State is known.

He said Gumel’s elevation to such a global position demonstrates the vast potential Jigawa continues to produce, adding that the state is confident in his ability to drive sustainable growth and prosperity for Botswana’s Sovereign Wealth Fund.

Governor Namadi assured Gumel of the full support, prayers, and solidarity of the government and people of Jigawa as he embarks on the task ahead, expressing hope that he will succeed in his new responsibility.

The governor also saluted the achievement, wishing Gumel wisdom, strength, and success in the assignment, which he said brings honour not only to Jigawa but also to Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
