Jigawa State Government has reiterated its commitment to easing the difficulties faced by farmers in transporting their produce to nearby markets across the state.

Governor Umar Namadi stated this while flagging off the construction of a 34.2-kilometer road from Kwanar Idonduna through Kadowawa and Gangawa to Kwanar Olayinka in Jahun Local Government Area.

According to him, the contract is awarded to a firm at the contract sum of twelve point nine billion naira with 24 months.

The Governor also said provision of access roads is aimed at improving the transportation of people and goods as well as reducing the hardship faced by farmers.

He pointed out that, the present administration has completed 25t out of the 26 roads project inherited by the previous administration.

Namadi added that, the Kwanar idonduna road is one the 47 roads project awarded by the present administration at contract sum of more than 300 billion naira.

Also Speaking, the state commissioner of works and transport Engineer Gambo S Malam said the state government is currently constructing township roads in Aujara town at the contract sum of 3 point 4 billion naira.

He further explained that, the state government is also constructing feeder roads as part of effort of improving economic status of the rural communities.
