The Executive Chairman, Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service, Comrade Jerry Adams says he would continue to support groups and organisations with peaceful initiatives in the state in line with the state government’s commitment for her citizens.
Comrade Jerry Adams stated this while playing host to the Rotary Action Group for Peace, Kaduna State branch team led by its president, Rotarian Luqman Babatunde on a Courtesy call in his office in Kaduna.
According to him, no meaningful development can be achieved in an atmosphere of rancor, hence the need to throw weight behind peaceful initiatives and humanitarian services.
“I am a Rotarian, I am one of those poised to see that humanity is taking care of, especially the under serve, underprivileged, widows, among others, with what Rotary Club is doing, I am proud to be a member of the Club, I advised that anywhere course of humanity is been mentioned, people should be able to contribute in their own little way, because we are not built same, there are some that are up there, there are some at the middle and there are some down below, and those people needs to be taking care of, like it is said, all fingers are not equal”, he said.
He called on people in the society, particularly wealthy individuals to support Rotary as they go about their charitable works.
“The government cannot do everything, that’s why we have non-governmental organisations, like the Rotary Club doing a lot of good things,” he added.
Earlier, the President of Rotary Action Group for Peace who is also the President Rotary Club of Kaduna Metropolitan under district 9127, Rotarian Luqman Babatunde said they were in the office of the Executive Chairman to notify him, who is their crown Ambassador of peace on the activities of the new Rotary year, which commenced on July first, this year.
According to him, the group has marked our programs that would have direct bearing on the people of Kaduna State, particularly the less privileged ones and called for more supports.
” Rotary new year normally starts in July and each month is designated with a theme, the month of September is Basic and Literacy Education, October, is Community development, while December is health and well being. Rotary clubs and arms all over the world marks all this month by carrying our advocacy outreaches and sensitization talks in their locals, it is to this end Sir, that the Kaduna branch of Rotary Action for Peace which is the Civil Society arm of Rotary saddled with promoting Peace will be carrying out projects interventions, and this is to solicit your support and that of your team as well,” he said.
The delegation presented him with a certificate of Peace Ambassador which was conferred on him on March Six, this year.
