The 2025 Hajj exercise conducted by Kebbi State pilgrims in the holy land has been described as the best among the 36 states of the federation.

State Chairman of the Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Faruq Yaro Musa, stated this while addressing newsmen shortly after a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Hajj camp in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.

He said the last Hajj exercise conducted by pilgrims from the state was rated the best, as they exhibited good attitudes and religious morals worthy of emulation.

Alhaji Faruq also commended the effort of the state government for providing all the necessary support needed by the board which yield positive results toward conducting a successful hitch free, fair and credible Hajj exercise.

The Board Chairman further explained that the board has commenced receiving Hajj deposits for 2026 intending pilgrims from the state, amounting to eight million five hundred thousand naira only (₦8,500,000.00).

He added that the board is also receiving deposits for Umrah during the Ramadan period at the cost of three million naira only, including passport fees.

Alhaji Faruq also expressed appreciation for the support given by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria before, during, and after the exercise, especially when a pilgrim fell sick after the exercise had ended.

He noted that the Kebbi State Governor, Malam Nasiru Idris, the Kebbi State Hajj Welfare Board, and NAHCON contributed immensely towards taking responsibility for Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Ajiga, who suffered from tuberculosis and was left in a hospital in Saudi Arabia.

According to him, the governor has ordered the payment of all the medical bills of the patient who spend about four months after the Hajj exercise was over and airlifted him from Saudia to Nigeria as well as to his state and hometown Alieru.

In an interview, the patient, Alhaji Aminu Abubakar Ajiga, commended the efforts of the State Governor, Malam Nasiru Idris Kauran Gwandu, the State Pilgrims Welfare Board, and the National Hajj Commission for their timely support and concern in ensuring that he regained his physical fitness.

He explained that after performing his Hajj rites, he fell sick and was admitted to four first-class hospitals to ensure he recovered his health.
