The Governing Council of the Renewed Hope Initiative has donated one billion naira to the victims of natural disasters in Niger state.
The one billion naira donation which was received by the Niger state Government also came with relief materials that includes,two thousand bags of 50KG of rice,cothes and shoes meant tor the victims of flood, banditry,boat mishap and fire disasters across the state.
First lady and wife the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu stated this while announcing the donation at a colourful ceremony held at the Government House Minna.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu however maintained that the funds should be directed towards the provision of housing and essential supplies to help the displaced families get back to their feet,earn great living and have a better life which is in line with the objectives of the renewed hope initiative of the present administration.
The Wife of the President had earlier condoled the government and people of Niger State over the flood disaster in Mokwa that claimed many life’s, and displaced many families, in addition to the recent boat mishaps,victims of banditry and those who have suffered fire disaster across Niger state.
According to her”. These are really challenging times,but,we prayed that Almighty Allah comfort the bereaved families,hail the injured and strengthen all those affected, as a mother,I shared your pains and grieve over those irreplaceable loss.
Senator Oluremi Tinubu had earlier lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his swift approval for the released of funds and food items to assist in the recovery effort as well as reconstruction of houses destroyed by the flood in Mokwa, while commanding Governor Muhammad Umar Bago for raising promptly to the occasion by donating funds and grains to support families that were displaced.
In his remarks, Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago said there is no better time to visit the state by the first lady than now,stressing that Niger is the only riverine state in Northern Nigeria,and had tributes of water that were housing Four hydro dams and Two water falls.
He also explained that the state in recent times had experienced incidences of floods,boat mishaps,fire disasters,banditry and insurgency, and appreciated the first lady for her kind gesture to all the victims of the disasters
The Governor hinted that officially,Niger State APC has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the second tenure.
“I wish to announced to you all that we have received the sum of N1 Billion Naira into the Niger State Emergency account, courtesy,the Renewed Hope Initiative of her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu,2,000 bags of 50kg Rice,16,000 Rappers for women that are in this situation,she gave us over 100 shoes ,wherever you have gotten all these to support us,we pray that God to continue replenish what you have spent”.Bago added.
