Movement for the Creation of Kanya Babba Local Government has formally submitted its proposal to the Senate Committee on the Creation of States and Local Governments, currently sitting in Kano State.

Presenting the proposal, Chairman of the Movement and District Head of Kanya Babba, Makaman Ringim, Malam Mohammed Ibrahim, stated that the initiative is in line with constitutional provisions and fulfills all required criteria for the creation of a new local government area.

Malam Mohammed Ibrahim explained that the movement was supported by the entire people of Kanya state constituency with a view to enhance socio economic development of the area.

Receiving the request, Chairman of the senate committee, senator Barau Jibril, expressed satisfaction with commitment of the people of Kanya Babba constituency.

Barau Jibrin therefore, assured them of the committee’s determination to be fair and just in discharging its assignment.

Radio Nigeria reports that those that attended the occasion include the Jigawa State Deputy Governor, Engineer Aminu Usman Gumel, Senator representing Jigawa North West Senatorial District, Babangida Hussaini Kazaure, member of the Jigawa state House of Assembly representing Kanya Constituency Malam Ibrahim Hashim Kanya, chairman of Babura local government council, Alhaji Hamisu Muhammad Garu among others.
