Kaduna State Government has launched a state-of-the-art Data Portal to achieve transparency in areas of Infrastructure and Procurement processes.

The State Commissioner for Planning and Budget Commission, Malam Mukhtar Ahmed Monrovia announced this at a media parley organised by the State Public Procurement Authority (KADPPA) to strengthen collaboration between the government, civil society, private sector, and the media in Kaduna.

He said the portal was developed by KADPPA, for water and infrastructure-related projects and will enable journalists to access procurement data so as to promote standard reporting practices.

Represented by Director, Monitoring and Evaluation Mr. Bashir Ladan, the Commissioner stated that the portal is equipped with Artificial Intelligence for efficient data access and climate-responsive data points.

In a presentation, the state Manager, Construction Sector Transparency CoST, Tara Jeremiah Wyah emphasized that Kaduna became the first sub- national government in Nigeria to adopt the transparency Initiative.

He noted that the Open Contracting for Infrastructure Data Standard (OC4IDS) and Infrastructure Transparency Index (ITI) is raising the bar for openness in project monitoring.

Also speaking, the Director, KADPPA Engineer. Suleiman Abba called on the media to play a leading role in promoting transparency, accountability, and value-for-money outcomes in public infrastructure delivery.
