The Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, has reiterated the governors’ commitment to better preparation and consultation with critical stakeholders on how best to serve the country ahead of tomorrow’s National Executive Committee meeting of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Hope Uzodinma made this known while briefing newsmen after a closed-door session with APC governors in Abuja this Wednesday.

The governor said the meeting was to align ahead of the APC NEC meeting, as governors met with President Tinubu to discuss how best to serve Nigerians and sustain the gains of ongoing reforms.

He expressed satisfaction with the results they are getting from the reforms so far and are planning to ensure how best this dividends reach to the grass root levels so that by the end of the day Nigeria receives the prosperity we are aspiring for all these years

” As part of the consultative arrangements among governors and the critical stakeholders to strengthen our party programmes and also plan on how best to serve Nigeria better as the ruling party”.

Responding to a question on governors’ influence in party decisions, he said such matters are for the NEC to decide on behalf of the Convention, as stated in the APC Constitution, adding that it’s premature to draw conclusions while consultations are still ongoing.

“And by tomorrow 2 P.M., the NEC of our great party will be meeting to also discuss issues of importance to our great party and primarily how best to serve Nigeria better. And we are happy and excited with the results we are getting so far from the reforms by the President.”
