The Member representing Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Dr. Abdulmalik Zubairu Zannan Bungudu, has officially handed over five completed solar-powered boreholes to the Federal Polytechnic, Kaura Namoda.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Dr Bungudu, represented by his Chief Spokesperson, Aminu Lawal Bungudu urged the Polytechnic management to ensure optimal use of the boreholes through regular and proper maintenance to safeguard the projects against damage or vandalism.
According to him, the facilities are aimed at addressing the institution’s water challenges.
“Water is critical to our everyday lives,” he said. “It is therefore essential for the Polytechnic to put in place sustainable measures to protect and maintain these facilities.”
While receiving the facilities, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Aminu Yusuf Kaura Namoda, commended Zannan Bungudu for his generous intervention.
He described the gesture as a model example of what is expected from alumni and political leaders.
“The issue of water scarcity has been a major challenge for both staff and students.

Dr Yusuf Kauran Namoda noted that, the intervention was a proud alumnus of the institution, has addressed a long-standing problem and created a more conducive environment for learning and work.
He added that the lawmaker’s name would be remembered in the annals of the Polytechnic’s history for his contribution to its growth and development.
Beyond the borehole project, Dr Zannan Bungudu has also sponsored full scholarship packages for 50 indigent students from Bungudu and Maru Local Government Areas and awarded a contract for the establishment of an Artificial Intelligence Library to promote modern research and innovation in the institution.
