Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar has declared today Thursday the 26th of june 2025 as the first day of Muharram 1447AH , Islamic calendar.
This is in a statement signed by the chairman Advisory Committee on religious Affairs, Sultanate Council Sokoto Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu,
The statement cited that the Monthly Observation of the moon,clarifies the Islamic Calendar within a given year, thereby making the month of Ramadan moon sightings more acceptable to the general Muslims in the Country.
