Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has cautioned members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State against acts of insubordination and anti-party activities.

He made the call while receiving APC executives from Gumi, Bukuyum, Anka, Bakura, Maradun, and Talata Mafara Local Government Areas, who paid him Sallah homage at his hometown in Maradun local government area of the state.

Dr. Matawalle urged party members to remain united and grateful for having leaders who prioritize the welfare of their people.

He commended the former Governor of the state, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, for his contributions to the growth of the party and the overall development of Zamfara.

“As I always say, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, myself, and other APC leaders in the state are committed to improving the welfare of our members and the people of Zamfara,” he stated.

“I urge you to continue supporting the party and to avoid any acts of insubordination toward its leadership. We must resist any attempt to divide our great party in the state.”

The Minister also called on party members to remain patient and assured them that more welfare packages and job opportunities were on the way for the benefit of the people.

Reacting to speculations about Governor Lawal’s alleged plan to defect to the APC, Dr. Matawalle said the All Progressives Congress (APC) is open to receiving Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, if he decides to join the party.

According to him, the APC remains a party of leaders with humility, respect, and a strong commitment to progress.

He encouraged the governor to publicly declare his intention and follow the proper procedure if he is truly interested in returning to the party, rather than engaging in what he described as a hide-and-seek approach.

“The APC is a progressive party. What will make anyone, including Governor Dauda Lawal, consider defecting is the remarkable progress being recorded under the leadership of President Tinubu”

Matawalle observed that, many PDP governors are defecting to the APC due to the internal crisis plaguing their party, which he said has made it difficult for members to operate comfortably.

“I have no grudges with him. He is welcome to the party, but he must come through the proper channel either through me or Senator Abdulaziz Yari,” he added.

The Minister also disclosed that, Governance is not a ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ or crypto business but it requires focus and responsibility.

Dr. Matawalle also advised Governor Dauda Lawal to concentrate on fulfilling his mandate rather than frequenting media platforms to lay complaints.

Dr Bello Matawalle who said the people of Zamfara did not elect him to go around media houses complaining daily, urged to channel that energy toward addressing the challenges facing the state.

He also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a progressive leader and a skilled manager of peace and national development.

“President Tinubu is focused on fostering growth, unity, and development in the country. The APC welcomes anyone who wishes to join the journey toward peace, harmony, and progress,” he added.
