Assistant Inspector General of Police AIG, Zone 14 Headquarters, Katsina, Aliyu Abubakar Musa, has directed the deployment of watertight security across Katsina and Kaduna States ahead of the Eid-el-Adha celebrations.
The directive is part of broader measures to ensure public safety during the festive period.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Zonal Public Relations Officer, CSP Gambo Isa, who emphasized that the operation aligns with instructions from the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
The IGP had mandated all Zonal and State Commands to secure Eid prayer grounds, recreational centers, and other vulnerable locations during the Sallah period.
AIG Aliyu urged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious individuals or activities to the nearest security personnel to aid efforts in maintaining peace and order.

In line with this directive, the Katsina State Police Command under CP Bello Shehu has confirmed the deployment of adequate personnel and security assets across strategic areas in the state.
The Command reassured residents of a peaceful and hitch-free Sallah, calling for public cooperation with law enforcement agencies.
Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, cautioned parents and guardians to guide their children against engaging in illegal activities, including reckless horse riding, dangerous driving, and unlawful gatherings.
He warned that anyone found disrupting public peace would be decisively dealt with.
The Command also advised individuals with malicious intent to desist, as the police are fully prepared to take swift action to maintain peace before, during, and after the festivities.
Emergency contact numbers were provided for prompt reporting of any incidents.
CP Bello Shehu extended warm Sallah greetings to all Muslim faithful in the state and reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property during the celebrations.
