National Commission for the Proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons (NCPA-SALW) has called for collaboration with the Jigawa State Government in its efforts to curb the illegal spread of small arms and light weapons across the country.

The plea was made by the Commission’s Northwest Zonal Director, Ibrahim Muhammad Ladan, during a courtesy visit to Alhaji Muhammad K. Dagaceri, the Head of the Civil Service in Jigawa State.

Ladan stressed the urgency of the Commission’s mandate and the importance of building strong partnerships to strengthen public safety and national security.

In response, Alhaji Dagaceri assured the Commission of the Jigawa State Government’s full cooperation and support.

He commended the Commission’s mission and emphasized the joint responsibility of all levels of government in addressing the threats posed by arms proliferation.

The meeting stressed the need for united efforts among government agencies to ensure a safer environment for citizens by tackling the root causes and distribution of illegal weapons.
