Governor Malam Umar Namadi has restated his administration’s unwavering commitment to justice sector reform in Jigawa State.
He made this known while declaring open a two-day capacity-building workshop for newly appointed Shari’a Court Judges, organized by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) at the Manpower Development Institute, Dutse.
The governor emphasized the judiciary’s vital role in a functional democracy, describing it as the cornerstone of social justice.
He praised the ongoing reforms under the Jigawa judiciary, commending the JSC and the Chief Judge for their leadership in organizing the training.
Namadi urged the new judges to uphold integrity, impartiality, and justice in the discharge of their duties.
He reminded them of both their constitutional and spiritual responsibilities, stressing that justice must be administered without fear or favor and in accordance with Islamic values.
He assured continued government support toward improving judicial infrastructure, staff welfare, and capacity-building initiatives.
These efforts, he said, align with the administration’s broader 12-point development agenda focused on institutional strengthening and good governance.

In his remarks, Hon. Justice Umar M. Sadiq, Chief Judge of Jigawa State and JSC Chairman, described the training as a significant step in equipping the Shari’a Court Judges with the knowledge and tools necessary for fair and timely adjudication.
Justice Sadiq noted that a judge’s command of the law is essential to upholding justice and maintaining public confidence in the judiciary.
He said the workshop offers an opportunity for the judges to learn the foundational skills of adjudication.
The workshop is part of ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening judicial institutions in the state and promoting social justice, peace, and cohesion through a more effective legal system.
Governor Namadi reaffirmed that collaboration between the judiciary and executive arms will remain a top priority to ensure inclusive and equitable justice delivery across Jigawa State.
