Jigawa State Judiciary has officially launched newly revised Rules of Court under the Administration of Criminal Justice Law (ACJL), marking a key reform aimed at improving the justice delivery system.
The rules were signed into effect by the Honourable Chief Judge of Jigawa State, Justice Umar M. Sadiq, at a ceremony held at the Judicial Complex in Dutse.
The updated rules are expected to enhance judicial efficiency, reduce delays in criminal trials, and promote transparency and fairness in court proceedings.
The initiative reflects the judiciary’s commitment to aligning its processes with modern legal standards and best practices.
Justice Umar Sadiq commended the Rules Committee and stakeholders for their contributions in developing the framework.
He emphasized the importance of implementing reforms that ensure speedy and fair trials while safeguarding the rights of defendants.

In a remark, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Bello Abdulkadir Fanini, praised the judiciary’s efforts and highlighted the collaborative role of the executive in advancing legal reforms in the state.
He said the new rules would strengthen the justice system and improve access to justice for all.
The event was attended by top judicial officers, magistrates, legal practitioners, law enforcement representatives, and members of the Nigeria Bar Association, showcasing broad support for the reform from across the justice sector.
