Kwara State Government says it will intensify efforts on the proper maintenance of road safety measures,and strengthen compliance to ensure adequate sustainability of the ongoing renewed transportation system in the State.
The State Commissioner for Transportation, Lafia Korasabi, disclosed this, while speaking with newsmen in Ilorin.

According to him the state government will not relent in its effort to ensure compliance and orderliness among road users.
Lafia, stressed that the Ministry’s recent joint taskforce exercise against road side garages and parks was meant to stop their illegal operations.
He explained that the state government will ensure maximum security of commuters against the antics of non-state actors operating in some parts of the State.
The Commissioner noted that the State government had plans to deploy a digital means of vehicle registration, to boost monitoring, tracking and identification of vehicle plates, inorder to enhance the security architecture of the transportation system in the State.
He said arrangements have been concluded for the wide spread of operations of both the Kwara Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA) and Vehicle Inspection Office, to all the Local Government Areas of the State.
