As Women globally commemorate this year’s International Women’s Day, a non governmental organization, The Bloom Network has stressed the importance of “one woman proposition” as a holistic approach to addressing the financial, social, business and personal needs of Nigerian Women.
Regional Champion of the Organization, Shawa Suleiman Illu stated this at an International Women’s Day event organized by Reality Investment Services in Kaduna.
He explained that for women in Nigeria to excel and accelerate actions beyond borders there should be concerted efforts towards having one voice and unity among the women.
Illu who is also a representative of a commercial bank at the event, while sharing his experiences during his work called on women particularly business women, professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs to see this year’s international women’s day celebration as a call to action and unity among themselves.
On her part, Director of Reality Services, Hajiya Aljannatu Firdausi while expressing gratitude towards this year’s event, encouraged women to take care inline with this year’s theme; Accelerate Action.
Hajiya Firdausi maintained that it is only when women rise up to their responsibilities, they can leave a lasting legacy in their leadership roles and business endeavors.
While applauding the sponsors of the event, she acknowledged the efforts of both government and non-governmental organizations in Nigeria towards celebrating the achievements of women as well as supporting them and called on them to do more.
Some participants Hadiza Isa Muhammad and Naja Uwaisu who went down memory lane to share their success stories and experiences, highlighted how the International Women’s Day as a global event have empowered them and their businesses, stressing they look forward towards the implementation of the lessons learnt at the event.
The event brought together women from diverse backgrounds to honour their social, economic empowerment and financial inclusion development.
