The All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign tour of Funtua Senatorial Zone in Katsina State has been described as a success, reflecting the party’s growing acceptance across the zone.

A party chieftain and stakeholder in the zone, Hamza Suleiman Faskari, said the campaign recorded massive crowds, peaceful rallies and engagements with stakeholders across the 11 local government areas.

According to Faskari, large numbers of supporters, including women, youths, farmers, traders and students, turned out to welcome Governor Dikko Radda and his entourage during visits to various local government areas and districts.

He said the overwhelming reception from Funtua to Faskari, Bakori, Danja, Malumfashi, Kankara and Dandume demonstrated the party’s strong political presence in the state.

Faskari expressed confidence that the massive turnout would translate into electoral victories for APC candidates contesting various positions in the 2027 general elections.

He noted that the campaign was not limited to political activities but also featured the inauguration of key capital projects and empowerment programmes under Governor Radda’s Building Your Future Agenda.

The projects included road construction, renovation and upgrading of primary healthcare centres, rehabilitation of schools and agricultural support schemes.

The empowerment programmes featured financial assistance to women traders, vocational equipment for artisans and agricultural inputs for farmers.

Faskari, who is the State Commissioner for Environment and APC candidate for the Kankara/Sabuwa/Faskari Federal Constituency, added that the Governor also held town hall meetings with traditional rulers, religious leaders, business representatives and politicians during the tour.

Speaking at the campaign rallies, Governor Radda said his administration had fulfilled its campaign promises and implemented additional projects and programmes based on the needs of communities across the state’s 361 wards.

The Governor, who is also the Coordinator of the Tinubu-Dikko Campaign Council in Katsina State, urged party members to strengthen unity, reconciliation and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He identified security, infrastructure, education, healthcare and economic opportunities as key priorities of his administration and called on residents to support President Bola Tinubu and all APC candidates.

Addressing supporters at a rally in Matazu, Radda described the massive turnout and peaceful conduct of the campaign as evidence of the party’s strong support base in the state.

The Tinubu-Dikko campaign train is expected to visit Daura and Katsina Senatorial Zones in the coming weeks.
