Kwara State Government has urged all private school proprietors operating crèches to comply with crèche registration procedures to enhance childcare standards.
The state Commissioner for Social Development, Dr. Mariam Nana Fatima Imam, made the call during an inspection of private crèches in Offa and Ijagbo towns in Kwara South Senatorial District by the Ministry’s Monitoring Team.
Dr. Mariam urged all schools operating crèches to expedite their registration processes with the Ministry to avoid sanctions.
She emphasized the need to ensure proper registration and up-to-date data on crèches in the state as well as enhance government’s ability to monitor and support improved service delivery for children.
The Commissioner explained that the state remains supportive of early childhood care, noting that it is essential that all facilities meet the required standards to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children.
Dr. Mariam called on operators who are yet to complete their registrations to do so promptly, to avoid any disruptions to their services.
