President Bola has met with service chiefs at the State House in Abuja.

The meeting was attended by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun; the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; and the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Oluwatosin Ajayi.

Also present were the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen Olufemi Oluyede; the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla; the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar; and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Mohammed Mohammed.

During the meeting, the leadership of the National Assembly; the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio; the Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele; the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; and his deputy, Benjamin Kalu was seen entering the premises.

Although the specific agenda of the meeting was not disclosed, it is widely believed to be connected to recent security developments across the country.

One of the key concerns may have been the explosion at an oil facility in Rivers State, which occurred on the Trans-Niger Pipeline near the Bodo community in Gokana Local Government Area.

The incident followed threats from an unidentified group to target oil installations in protest of the ongoing political tensions in the state.
