According to him, drug abuse is a national challenge that threatens the fabric of society, noting that, research has shown a direct link between drug abuse and violent crimes, including armed robbery, kidnapping, terrorism, domestic violence, and sexual assault.

“The campaign woul employ a multi-faceted approach, including town hall meetings, community engagement, advocacy visits, and a robust media campaign.

“The NOA is collaborating with stakeholders at federal, state, and local levels to ensure the success of the campaign”, he said.

Issa-Onilu commended the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA for its efforts in the fight against drug trafficking and illicit drug use.

He urged traditional and religious leaders to take a stand against drug abuse and advocate for rehabilitation and reintegration of those affected.

The campaign is a call to action for all stakeholders to break the cycle of addiction and crime, ensuring a safer society for all. With the support of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr. Abbas Tajudeen, the campaign aims to build a Nigeria free from drug abuse and violent crime.
