Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas has commissioned 38 Pentacyclic Ambulances.

Chairmen of the 16 Local Government Areas received the ambulances during a ceremony at Jalingo, the State Capital.

This is the first batch of ambulances that have been delivered out of the 168 expected in the state.

The Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdullahi Alkali, who represented Governor Kefas emphasised that the development was part of the strategies adopted by the current administration to improve the lives of people in Taraba, especially in the rural areas specifically in cases of emergencies such as childbirth and prompt healthcare delivery.

Taraba State Commissioner for Health, Dr Bordiya Buma highlighted other ongoing health projects for quality healthcare delivery to residents to include the Rehabilitation Center at the State Specialist Hospital, Jalingo and a temporary site for the National Orthopedic Hospital.

Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Alhaji Aminu Jauro Hassan described the initiative as timely and effective for health transformation in the state.
