In continuation of projects commissioning in Abuja, President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated Constitution Avenue and Independence Avenue, otherwise known as B6, B12 and circle roads.

On the occasion, President Tinubu said his administration was able to complete the B6, B12 roads that was awarded and abandoned 17 years ago by previous Administrations, within one year in office.

President Tinubu represented by the Senate President, Godswill Apkabio reiterated commitment to building more roads, bridges, and essential infrastructure that would connect the people and drive the economy.

He described the achievements of FCT Minister on projects delivery as a commitment and testament of the Renewed Hope Agenda, and noted that efficient transport network remained vital for economic growth, social integration, and overall national development.

President Tinubu also commended Wike and his team for their hard work and urged them to be prepared and determined to do more to further drive the economy.

“The President is keeping to his promise of renewing the hope of Nigerians. FCT, Abuja, as we know it. Drive around in the night come in from the airport and go round Abuja. Go round the suburbs and then you will know that the FCT Minister, Wike is Working, and by implication the government of  Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu is working. Everything happening here aims to renew the hope of Nigerians,

“It is with a deep sense of pride that I inaugurate Roads B6, B12 and Circle Road in the Central Area of the now beautiful city of Abuja, completed in record time, under the watch of the Honourable Minister of the FCT, His Excellency, Barr Nyesom Wike, under one year in office,

“These roads are designed to alleviate traffic congestion, reduce travel time, and provide a more seamless connection between key areas within our Capital City, to the Glory of God and service to humanity. ” Tinubu  said

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike explained that the B6, B12 roads was awarded 14 May 2007 at the cost of 48.5bn and later reviewed January 2021 to the tune of 98.8bn.

Wike expressed delight that he was able to carry out the matching order of President Tinubu that Government is a continuum, and that all abandoned ongoing projects must be completed.

He attributed the successes the FCTA had recorded in renewing the hope of staff and residents through policy reforms and infrastructure development, to having the right leadership that is focused and ready to improve living standard of the people.

Wike also used the occasion to raise concerns about  the Ministry of Finance building that had encroached into the road, and appealed to Mr President to intervene in the matter.
