The Spiritual Leader of the Tijjaniya Islamic Movement, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi says he fully supports the initiative of the Federal Government to incorporate western education in the curriculum of Almajiri schools.

He made this known when the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children’s Education, NCAOOSCE, Dr Muhammad Sani Idris visited him in Bauchi.

Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi said the Tijjaniya Movement was committed to any course that would enhance the socio-economic development of the country.

The Executive Secretary of NCAOOSCE had earlier told the Sheikh that he was at his residence to seek his blessings as he embarks on the journey towards restructuring the almajiri education and taking millions of out-of-school children off the streets.

He emphasized that the integration would afford the almajiri the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills to compete favourably in a continuously globalized world.

Dr Muhammad Sani Idris also said President Bola Tinubu is worried about the menace of almajiri and out-of-school children and would leave no stone unturned towards bringing it to an end.
