President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to address a joint session of the National Assembly Wednesday 29th May as part of activities to commemorate 25 years of the nation’s democratic journey.

A statement says the President will not make the usual broadcast to the nation to celebrate his first anniversary as the leader of Nigeria.

Signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the statement says the President speech will dwell on the achievements of his administration and Nigeria’s democracy since the military ceded power in 1999.

It says former Senate President, David Mark, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, and President Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Dr. Femi Gbajabiamila are also scheduled up to address the Assembly.

Also lined up to speak is the former military ruler, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, who handed over power to civilian administration in 1999.

The President will later commission the National Assembly Library and Resource Center, named after him. .
